I’ve been pondering on this word CHANGE along with this feeling of Change !Change is an act or process through which something becomes different. This can be worrying, sometimes change can be pushed upon us, or it can be of our own doing. Either way we don’t always welcome it. I’ve been thinking about this as I have been changing over the last 6 months, what with being off work and adapting to my body and minds needs to aid healing through the anxiety and burn out. I’ve also changed as I have been at home and I feel I have been a better parent to my son, I have been present everyday to take him and pick him up from school. I have been at home every night to cook tea. I’ve adapted to being a house wife instead of being a nurse. This has been a big change. Also making the decision to leave my job and get a new one ! That is a huge change. Outside influences have changed me, listening to daily podcasts of prayer and the bible have changed me. I feel spring is coming and we are moving from winter into spring that is a change. I can actually feel the healing powers of spring starting to take effect on me. I know change is coming and I am welcoming it with open arms. Change however hasn’t always been an easy task for me, I worry and ponder. And when change happens fast sometimes I feel like I’m drowning.
Thinking about this today I have come to the conclusion that change is good, it expands your mind, it helps you to grow develop and be Stronger, Change makes you adapt, pushes you out of your comfort zone, I think we all need that sometimes, we all need to know what is good about ourselves we need to acknowledge that we are capable of anything, and change gives us that opportunity.
Being with joe and Sarah in New Zealand taught me a lot, ok they don’t have any ties or commitments only to each other, but they are living a life of adventure without fear of change, because hey have travelled and had to make it work to get jobs to find a place to stay and they have moved about, they don’t have any worries about moving on again, they almost live a simple life, they have what they need and not to much stuff. And they have learnt to change and adapt so well. I am jealous of the freeness they have.
Sometime change is a huge weight and can bring us down and it depends on what kind of change it is. But with change this makes us adaptable, this is a good thing, there is no point in being stagnant and sticking and not changing.
As Winston Churchill quoted “To improve is to change, to be perfect is to change often” if we don’t change we don’t grow if we don’t grow, we are not really living ! Now that is food for thought.
